The staff was great, all really nice and friendly, in a very Turkish style.
I would have liked some fruit in the breakfast buffet.
Helpful and friendly staff. Incredible location. Central really close to all great attractions and up beautiful little side street with lovely places to eat and shop just to hand. Large breakfast with good choice of food. Great value for money.
We didn't get the promised roof garden - think it was their other hotel !!
The Sultanahmet location and small balcony off our room were good.
The hotel described itself falsely as having a rooftop terrace for breakfast with a beautiful view of the Blue Mosque. Instead, breakfast was around the corner, on the first floor of a sister property. Even if the terrace was open, it is a very ugly space to eat, with almost broken doors leading from the poorly done weather-protective glass walls. Everything in this hotel is run-down.
The hotel was cosy and in a great location. I liked the most the atmosphere of the hotel. It was more like a "house" feeling than a hotel!
Close to all historic sites and transport systems
Rooms were nothing like the web pictures. Dark and dingy with no room to put suitcases and no side tables. Breakfast room upstairs was dirty
Great location a few minutes from the old town and friendly helpful staff. Maybe a wee bit dated in the 'Sultan Suite' but then again could be considered quaint! Enjoyable trip.
family atmosphere, historical ambience, terrace with great overview,
not very nice view from the window - to the dirty backyard, cleaning was only once per 8 days of stay, wider variation at breakfast
Good, international breakfast; friendly, helpful service personal; free internet; lots of little hotel stuff (toothbrush, shoe clean kit,...)
The main things are ok (furniture, bed, lights) and the things which have to be cleaned daily are clean, but the main problem with the hotel is that it would need to be renovated or at least cleaned completely and thoroughly: In the corners there is dust, plaster is coming from the ceiling, in the bathroom there is mildew and the inventory style is awful. To sum up: I would advice this hotel to people who don’t care about if the hotel is modern or 100% clean.
The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean all went well with the parking spot and breakfast as well.
Good position, nice breakfast and charming room features.
I really appreciated this hotel. For position but especially for the friendliness of the owner and for his kindness and willingness. Good for all. TOP breakfast. :)
Hotel staff spoke excellent english and very polite and helpful with directions to find places and how to get there in Istanbul. Breakfasts were a feast of various foods, unlimited to the number of buffet servings that you could take. Food was delicious and clean.
It was not for handicap people with an inability to climb stairs
The family apartment was set apart from the main hotel and was a little 'rustic', but ideal for us as a family with teenagers and excellent value. There were a couple of (minor) areas which required a bit of repair but otherwise we were very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and came across as genuine and very willing to assist - a rarity in many large cities these days. A most enjoyable stay.
The staff is great all around and very helpful.
If you're light sleeper, you might get woken up by the Mosque just up the street and their prayers early in the morning. I think the biggest thing for people would be to have their expectations not set too high. It's a cheap hotel that does the job.
I stayed in the hotel for only 3 nights, but I really enjoyed it. The stuff was really helpful happy to answer all questions. If I ever visit Istanbul again I will certainly stay at Angel's home again.
